Discovery Learning Program - DLP

DLP is a community based, non-profit organization controlled and operated by volunteers. It strives to improve basic reading and math skills not only for the students of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, but for students in your locale by using web based technologies.

Mission Statement:

  • Provide materials, instructions and support to educators, students and their parents/guardians for the sole purpose of developing fundamental reading and math skills.
  • Provide the above services at no cost or minimal cost to the supporting educator and/or parent/guardian.
  • Provide the above services by, but not limited to:
    • incorporating current free services or technologies, such as www.TeacherTube.com
    • incorporating free websites such as www.MyBreakfastReadingProgram.com
    • participating in and/or facilitating, through funding in part or whole, the development of free technologies and/or free websites
    • participating in and/or facilitating, through funding in part or whole, free online or local workshops for coaches/tutors

Goal:

Discovery Learning Program's goal is to be a "Johnny Appleseed" by providing concepts, materials and assistance to help you assist a student struggling in basic reading and math skills. Our goal is to plant the seeds. You will need to nurture the seeds and harvest the fruit of your tender care.
